Dear [Ohio lawmaker], I am writing to urge your support for House Bill 182, the Safe Water Act, introduced by Representative Levi Dean.
HB 182 protects Ohio’s public water system with a simple standard: no public water system shall add fluoride to the water it supplies.
Ohioans who want fluoride can choose it. What we cannot do is opt out of what is put into the water we all drink. Medication delivered through a public water supply is administered without individual consent, without a prescription, and without any way to control the dose a person receives. That is not a decision the state should be making on every resident’s behalf.
Please support HB 182 and let Ohioans make their own decisions about what they consume.
